The
The setting is a modern day Irish town a few turns or so off the main road, but certainly with some nice posh places to hang out.
A family is speculating upon the stars while enjoying an outdoor dinner and suddenly there is something like a shooting star and an alien being, looking similar to everyone else lands in the living room, also immediately locking eyes with the attractive daughter Jen.
He gives his name as Zonad and has had a long trip.
The women in this film seemed to be alien ready right from the get go and this is part of the launch pad for the humor.
Zonad decides to hang around and becomes the toast of the town and everything is on the house for him as the resident alien in Irish hospitality style.
The Daughter Jen has an apt suitor who is playing hard to get, we later learn despite his appealing look he feels under confident and not quite up to par for her, a reverse to the way he is presenting himself to her.
A twist ensues that puts a snag on Zonad's exalted status with the town but overall this movie keeps it light and moving along as mostly a sweet comedy.
What is interesting in particular is how the comedy comes in at slightly different angles that might be most familiar with movie goers and it is refreshing that way. Whether the humor might have skipped forward a bit within a scene, or seem to come from a more to the point angle, you do notice that it is somewhat different.
There is a rousing song at the end with some surprisingly excellent voices to the singing as everybody is chimed in.
