A woman from south Florida whose husband won on the lottery and then ditched his wife was to be evicted from the family home on Tuesday evening. Donna Campbell was told she had until Tuesday to leave the home in Miramar she once shared with her husband Mr Arnim Ramdass.
When asked she said I have asked myself over and over what I did to deserve this, to deserve this ending,
Mr Ramdass and several other technicians at an airline company won approximately $19 million in the June 2007 lottery jackpot. Instead of sharing the wealth, Campbell said her husband didn't inform his wife about his win and eventually ran away.
A previous lawsuit Campbell had filed was dropped. Mr Ramdass later stopped paying the mortgage, and their house went into foreclosure.
While they are still lawfully married, Campbell said Ramdass has completely vanished.
I have no idea where he is, Campbell stated
The only reminder of the man with who she once shared the home were the wedding photos on the dining room table. As far as the rest of her posessions, she was ready to have to let them go.
I could part with anything in the house. It doesnt matter. But the Christmas stuff means a whole lot to me, said Campbell
She spent Tuesday packing up pictures and clothing. She would leave behind furniture and other large items, as she had no place to go and cant afford to put them into storage.
But when the guys at Allied Van Lines removals company saw Campbells story, they offered to move her belongings and store them at their unit for free.
That would be wonderful. Thank you very much. You made my Christmas, Campbell told the man who called with the news.
Campbell wants to divorce Ramdass, file suit for her half of the winnings and serve him with divorce papers, but her husband is so far unlocatable.
I intend to find him. I will keep trying until I get him, Campbell added.
