Throughout history mankind has come together and gathered over food. In the modern world, this event has become an even bigger expression of social significance. Whether it is a grand dining event with tuxedos and evening wear, or the more common backyard cookout, the basic premise of providing quality food for guests remains a constant. In the informal cookout setting, the selection of a top-notch barbecue sauce could be the ticket to winning over new friends and influencing people to believe they are experiencing something extraordinary.

At first glance you would think that just a simple thing like a selection of barbecue sauce is not that important in planning a big event, and in the grand scheme of things it might not be the most important thing most of the time. Although, if you use the right sauce that makes your food not only open up the magic of some great barbecue but leaves your guests talking days later, you have just created something of a more mythic proportion. Your cookout will become something of local legend, and it will soon become the “in” thing to do when people show up at your next event.

Have you ever gone out to a restaurant and had a horrible experience with bad food? Do you remember how long that event had, or still haunts you? Now imagine the best food experience you have ever had and think about how that also sits in the recesses of your brain. Now, in a social surrounding like a cookout, the memory becomes compounded with great food and company, and the memory stays with you forever. You cannot have that experience without a great barbecue sauce leading the way. Don't take the selection too lightly or you may just be throwing one of those basic barbecues with the average fare to eat.

So, it is entirely up to you what kind of event you want to have. Do you want the average cookout with average food and will ultimately be a very forgettable event, or do you want to have people talk about how they actually were there at that glorious event that was not just a cookout, but a legendary event? You decide how you want it to be, and you will ultimately choose the barbecue sauce that makes or breaks your party. It is a small thing that could make such a huge difference, and it would be a shame to waste all that potential over one small decision.
